Auris is a new festival dedicated to sound art in all its forms - from immersive installation and electroacoustic performance to field recording, listening walks and acousmatic music.

Developed by Modus Arts, an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation, Auris brings a nationally recognised sound arts practice to Manchester for the first time as a dedicated public programme.

THE Team

Wajid Yaseen

Wajid’s practice draws on an inter-disciplinary approach to developing sound-based installation, acousmatic music, graphic scores and sound sculpture, presenting work both nationally and internationally. Wajid is responsible for developing the creative vision and programme for award-winning sound art organisation Modus, and is the Director of Auris Festival

Vicky Clarke

Vicky is a sound artist from Manchester, her practice explores materiality, electrical phenomena and hidden systems, working across performance, installation and sculpture. Winner of an Oram award for innovation in music and sound, she releases music as SONAMB.

Hubbiah rafaqat

Hubbiah is a Pakistani media scholar who oversees digital marketing across multiple Modus Arts projects. Her experience spans immersive digital media, video games and currently works as a Marketing lecturer in the Netherlands.

hayley walker-KERRIDGE

Hayley is a North West based communications specialist with over 15 years experience across music, art and culture. She has managed campaigns for UK and international festivals including Berlin Atonal - where she also co-curated the Sunday main stage's programme of avant-garde, ambient and noise acts. Her marketing and PR expertise, paired with her connections with Manchester's cultural scene and a burgeoning interest in sound art will help Auris to carve its own niche in the city's rich sonic landscape.

guillaume DUJAT

Guillaume is a Manchester based sound-technician and artist, predominantly supporting NOVARS innovation media lab and working freelance spatial sound design & tech. He makes music as part of the duo: WEȽ∝KER,  co-heads computer music label LOL-Editions and organises the Disconcert Manchester mail-out.

Joab Harrison

Joab is a graphic designer and visual artist based in Manchester. As a designer, he has worked on identities for some of the city's leading music events and organisations, while his self-directed art practice lies in filmmaking, animation, and audio-visual experimentation.

Spatial Audio Lead

MIKO Tchorzewski

Miko is a spatial sound artist and performer. Based in London, his practice - shaped by backpacking across countries and cultures - explores sound, space, ecology, rituals and collective cultural identity through lens of art, science, embodied knowledge and interactive designs.
