Ready for some chaos? Sound Artist Robin The Fog and his quartet of Howlround reel to reel machines present ‘Cast Your Tape To The Wind’, a beautifully messy hybrid of sound installation, performance and an introduction to the wonderful world of working with magnetic tape. They’ll be a brief history lesson, a sound-hunting exercise and then a whirlwind tape-loop making session, culminating in an improvised performance where all of our handiwork will be put through its paces by the Howlround sound system. Audience participation is strongly encouraged. The results will depend entirely on how cooperative the vintage analogue technology is feeling on the day - but it’s never short of compelling - and where would be the fun it doing it the sensible way?
